Hi everyone. I found this website while looking for some history about the family farm back in Scotland. My dad Duncan McVicar married Irene Horner and they lived at Lephinchapel until we migrated when I was 2. Hi Inge, I am your cousin from Australia. I was fortunate to meet Karen a few years back when she visited here. We live in the Perth hills in Western Australia and have recently bought a small farm and to carry the family history we have named it “Little Lephinchapel”. My husbands name is Adrian Stewart and we have 4 boys (4 to 15 years). My brother Robert has 2 boys ( 7 & 9 ) and Duncan Jnr is expecting first early next year. You can email me at agsstewart@bigpond.com if you would like to get in touch. Sheila

Great site. We have a cousin researching the family in Shotts, Scotland and she turned up your site. We hail from Syracuse, NY where our family farmed and grew. I live in Dunedin FL,(a Scottish based town outside of Clearwater, FL) Our side of the family is huge and getting bigger. The Scottish Games in Syracuse is our gathering yearly.

A very well organized website!

I am very interested to discover if your family tree links to mine via Barbara McVicar who married Andrew Stewart (High Park) in Campbeltown, Argyll circa 1768.

A large number of the family emigrated to the US, Canada and Australia and over the past few months I have located nearly twenty 3rd and 4th cousins!

I emigrated to the US in 1983 and now live in Oakville, Ontario

I married into a French Acadian family (hence the surname) but my grandparents immigrated from Scotland after the 1st World War. My grandfather was a Ballantyne and my grandmother's maiden name was Whyte. I am very proud of my Scottish heritage and can't wait to try these recipes.

Hi folks,

A quick hello from Scotland.

My father is a McVicar born and bred in Argyll - Lephinchapel farm next to Loch Fyne. His brother, Donny, still runs the farm with his son, Donald, with his elder brother, Duncan, having emigrated to Australia in the seventies.

I'm now in the South West of Scotland (Dumfries & Galloway) but we all manage to make it home to Argyll as much as we can.

Grand to see how far and wide the McVicar's have spread!

Great site! I always knew I was related to everyone in Cape Breton but I thought it was on my mother's side...There are few things you can add/change. My late father, Aldun Campbell MacVicar is buried at Forest Haven and not Black Brook Cemetary. He was also the recipient of the Stompin' Tom ECMA last February in Fredericton. My uncle Gib Whitney received the same one a few years back. Also, I am married to Gregory Bower who was born in Truro, not Margarestville. We have twin boys Daniel and Robert born on March 1, 2004.

I came across your website while I was searching for a long lost college friend. Her name is Judith McVicar and her family is from Leamington, Ontario. Judith studied Music in Wilfrid Laurier University from 1979-1983. If by any chance that Judith is part of your McVicar family, I would like to get in touch with her. My email contact is a_chong61@yahoo.com

By the way, very interesting site you have. Thanks
